UW Mentorship: Dr. Ronald Gall

Written by Lana Toameh and Mark Zasowski

Through the CAOS Mentorship Program, we had the pleasure of connecting with Dr. Ronald Gall at his practice, Oakville Centre for Vision. We were warmly greeted by Dr. Gall and were kindly introduced to the wonderful staff and interns at the office before being given a full tour of the clinic. Dr. Gall then treated us all to a tasty lunch that he picked up from a local restaurant.

Dr. Gall has an undeniable passion for optometry and his wide breadth of experiences, both Canada and the United States, are a testament to that. After receiving his Optometry degree, Dr. Gall completed a master's degree in binocular vision and he now specializes in vision therapy. The clinic also welcomes patients for primary care and offers state-of-the-art technology and a large, bright optical dispensary.

Throughout the entire mentorship meeting, Dr. Gall’s enthusiasm for the optometric profession was evident. He was keen to answer any questions that we had and also shared a lot of information about his successes and struggles as a professional. It was interesting to hear about some of the ways that Oakville Centre for Vision has adapted as a result of the COVID-19 restrictions. For instance, they have begun to offer patients the option to complete vision therapy sessions online, via video. Needless to say, we learned a ton through our meeting at Oakville Centre for Vision and it was inspiring to have an excellent optometrist like Dr. Ronald Gall as our mentor.
