Introducing our Student Doctor of the Month for March 2024: Erica Croft!
Erica is a third year Optometry student at New England College of Optometry. She is from Mississauga, Ontario and hopes to return to Canada after completing her studies in Boston. Erica has an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Brock University, and has gained experience working as an optometric tech before attending optometry school.
Erica pursued Optometry with the hopes of specializing in Neuro-Optometry and Performance Vision. She is the president of the Performance Vision Club at NECO, and loves to discuss how optometry can play a role in sports and concussion management. She hopes to improve concussion patients quality of life through rehabilitative vision therapy, and possibly open a concussion clinic one day.
Erica has really enjoyed her experience in optometry school. She has made friends with many of her classmates and has enjoyed using her free time to explore Boston and stay active. While Erica works hard to do well in school and learn, she believes in creating a balance between school and social life. Optometry school has given Erica many wonderful opportunities and memories, for which she will be forever grateful while moving through her optometric career.
